This is about our Little Free Library in Freeland, Oxfordshire, UK. This community project was grant aided by West Oxfordshire District Council.
You may have noticed that it has been a while since I have posted anything on this blog; the reason being, that there really hasn’t been anything of note to write about. We’re very lucky in that we’ve had no vandalism, no thefts, no negativity of any kind. What we do have is a very generous and supportive community, that actively uses the book exchange on a regular basis, both giving and taking books. We have never run out of books, there always seems to be a steady stream of donations. Children’s books tend to fly off the shelves, and the adult books have a high turnover, with donated ones appearing in there almost everyday. The above photo shows what our Little Free Library typically looks like on any given day. People still approach me in the street to say how much they enjoy using the book exchange; it really is a pleasure and a privilege to look after this successful community project.
